3 Weeks of Silent Failure: How One Missing `--model` Flag Drained My Interactive Quota Across 4 Jobs
After building an autonomous Claude Code environment (launchd jobs at 08:00/10:35 generating article stock across four parallel lanes), revenue climbed from ¥0 post-layoff to ¥1.2M/month. The outage: omitting `--model` in `claude -p` silently consumed the interactive session's quota, and when exhausted, returned a single "You've reached your Fable limit" line with non-zero exit code - which passed naive `[ -s output ]` checks, masking the failure for 3 weeks across 4 jobs.
