My Android app got 3,300 installs in 6 weeks, then Google Play stopped showing it. Here's what the data said and what I changed.
Porn Blocker Pro saw 3,300 installs but a 70% overnight drop after Google Play's 4-week new-app boost ended, driven by an 84% uninstall rate (3,245 uninstalls), only ~10 ratings due to a review prompt requiring a 7-day streak, and 65% of new users hitting the paywall immediately. To recover, the developer moved the paywall until after a real block, triggered review prompts after the first block plus a return visit, prioritized a pre-selected yearly plan over the $20 lifetime option, added local pricing for India/Indonesia/Pakistan, cut releases from 30 in six weeks to one weekly, and added a landing page and community outreach to reduce reliance on Play search.
