Crusoe raises $3.9B to build massive data centers and small modular ‘AI factories’
Crusoe raised $3.9 billion in a Series F round at a $30.9 billion valuation, co-led by Atreides Management, Mubadala Capital, and Valor Equity Partners, with Nvidia, GIC, and QIA participating. The capital will finance its Abilene, Texas site for OpenAI and modular, truck-transportable "Spark" data centers that deploy compute capacity without large construction workforces. Monetizing via leasing space, renting GPUs, and selling inference, Crusoe recently signed a $13 billion, five-year cloud contract with Jane Street and is exploring a potential IPO.

score
score 8 out of 10. 0-10: how dense the facts are, multiplied by how much you can do with them after reading. 8+ means the topic's evidence bar is met: benchmarks and availability for a new model, amount and investors for a funding round, revenue figures for a solo-money story. Below 5 an item does not enter the digest. A press release scores 3 or less, a reprint loses 2, anything older than 14 days loses 1, a headline that misleads loses 3.
