[Trading Strategy Optimizer] - My first paying customer found a bug that made the product impossible to activate
A TradingView Chrome extension (free tier, $10.89/mo pro) shipped with a fatal bug where the 36-character license key field rejected pasted input, making activation impossible; TradingView's document-level clipboard interception canceled paste events, and the 130-assertion test suite only covered typing. The same-day fix added a window-capture clipboard listener that performs the insert itself plus 10 paste-specific assertions, converting the worst first-customer experience into a retained subscriber and highlighting that testing the mechanism, not the human gesture, misses real-world failures.
